THE WEB WE LIVE IN

We live in a world that is almost completely dependent on the World Wide Web. (www). The Merriam-Webster’s English dictionary describes a web as an intricate pattern or structure suggestive of something woven: NETWORK. Indeed, we are all caught up in this network, and so are our children.

We will first examine the good for the church that comes from the internet. The gospel is being broadcast through it, we had access to mass for most of 2021 during the COVID pandemic because of the internet, revivals are being broadcast live and indeed many souls are won for God through this means.

On the other hand, it has also become a source of grave danger to the minds of both adults and children. My writing will be directed towards the children as they do not have enough experience to sift falsehood from what is true. Their brains are like sponges.

My main aim in my write ups will be to try to slowly begin to steer conversations around the area of pornography and its connection to sexual abuse and exploitation of children. We may be concerned with other Macro and Micro economic factors against our country, but a silent war is brewing under. We must begin to lay a foundation for the country so that we do not fall prey to the plans of the enemy. Children that grow in a strong and supportive environment, will grow up to be well balanced adults and citizens.

According to a research by an internet safety advocate group-(Fight the new drug) children as young as seven years have access to pornography. The numbers involved will grow as access to mobile devices also grows.

I will be presenting a series of thought invoking submissions that will ultimately drive conversations at policy level on blocking underage access to indecent sites for the future of our Nation.
